Vincent Pinto has been the “Nature-Journeys” columnist since the inception of The Patagonia Regional Times (PRT) in November of 2009. As the founder of Ravens-Way Wild Journeys LLC (RWWJ), Vincent has been passionate about the urgent need to help protect the unique biodiversity of the Sky Islands, offering education and conservation programs via RWWJ since 1987. Vincent accepted the invitation to write for the PRT to help educate people about the term ” Sky Islands”, as well as the complexity of the biodiversity that we are fortunate to have in the region – which is more unique than any comparable area in the U.S!
Via his very popular PRT column Vincent strives monthly to appeal to a wide audience making nature, ecology, biodiversity and conservation topics more digestible for neophytes – while also rich and engaging for those more conversant in these relevant topics. Vincent hopes that if people in the region understand the amazing value of all the unique species around them, then everyone would in turn feel compelled to help protect the unique Sky Islands Biodiversity for future generations!
The Patagonia Regional Times is a free monthly publication serving the Mountain Empire communities of Canelo, Elgin, Patagonia and Sonoita in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. The PRT is a nonprofit organization, funded by paid advertising, donations and grants.
