Ravens-Way Internships

RAVENS-WAY INTERNSHIPS FOR MEN
Ravens-Way Wild Journeys is searching for unique individuals whose path of learning deviates from society’s norm. At Ravens-Way you’ll learn by doing and participating in life-changing activities that are as diverse and exciting as they are meaningful. During your time with us you will:
- Learn a wide variety of Stone-Age skills, including fire-by-friction, wild edible plants, wild medicinal plants, shelters, flint-knapping, natural hunting & trapping, hide-tanning, and much more.
- Acquire Wilderness Survival Skills for a wide range of southwestern habitats (useful for areas outside the southwest as well.
- Study and practice the art and science of being a Naturalist, including: sensory awareness, tracks and signs, journaling, species identification (for a wide variety of plants, fungi, and wildlife), and compiling a Naturalist’s kit.
- Participate in hands-on rainwater harvesting, organic gardening, organic orchard management, and wildlife habitat improvement projects.
- As an Intern, you’ll spend much of your time camping at our 42 acre Nature Sanctuary with its modern classroom and Nature Center. There we have an incinerator toilet, refrigerator/freezer, and solar showers. This will be your base from which you’ll explore and learn, including on our miles of nature trails.
- At times you’ll also venture to our 50+acre wilderness sanctuary in the Chiricahua Mountains. There you’ll have a stone-age encampment and boundless open country at your disposal, as you learn the art of care-taking the land. This is also the perfect place to test and refine your newfound Stone-age and Survival Skills.
In return for your on-going training and experiences, we expect the following from you:
- $500/month with a minimum 1-month stay. This is less than the cost of a week-long program with RAVENS-WAY WILD JOURNEYS!
- work on a variety of land rehabilitation projects
- provide your own (reliable) transportation
- supply your own food
- supply your own camping gear
You must be 18 years or older, drug and alcohol-free, tobacco-free, pet-free, open-minded, hard-working, communicative, patient, a team-player and willing to learn.
